The Washington Post has claimed that conservatives are engaging in "conspiracy theories" about former President Joe Biden's prostate cancer diagnosis.
The corporate media outlet painted conservatives as conspiracy theorists, reporting that "Republicans and right-wing activists wasted little time asserting, without evidence, that Biden and his circle covered up the diagnosis" in a story bearing the headline, "Biden diagnosis draws well-wishes, questions and conspiracy theories."
It was announced that Biden was diagnosed with stage-four metastatic prostate cancer over the weekend and that the illness had spread to his bones. "On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone," a press release stated.
The stage-four cancer diagnosis came after shocking audio of Biden's interview with special counsel Robert Hur was released last week, which showed that Biden struggled to remember basic dates as well as other information and had a hard time carrying on the conversation.
The outlet took aim at Donald Trump Jr, who posted what many others have asked, “What I want to know is how did Dr. Jill Biden miss stage [four] metastatic cancer or is this yet another coverup???” The Post reported that the question was "accusatory," and that other Republicans posed such questions "without evidence." Doctor Howard Forman, who is a former Senate staffer and works at Yale, posted on X that it was "inconceivable" that Biden's cancer diagnosis was not known before Friday.
Americans have been left with questions of whether the former president was regularly scanned for illnesses such as prostate cancer. The Trump White House, for their part, told reporters that Trump is regularly screened for prostate cancer, and a report from April said that Trump’s Prostate-Specific Antigen level was 0.10 ng/mL, which is far below any indicator of prostate cancer.
