On Thursday, former President Donald Trump called on European countries to throw more financial support towards Ukraine in its war against Russia, suggesting that they are not paying their fair share.

He questioned why the United States has shelved out $100 billion more than European countries and demanded they equalize or match the US's amount in financial aid to Ukraine, considering they share a border with the war-torn eastern European country and the United States does not.

"Why isn't Europe giving more money to help Ukraine? Why is it that the United States is over $100 Billion Dollars into the Ukraine War more than Europe, and we have an Ocean between us as separation!" Trump wrote on Truth Social.

"Why can't Europe equalize or match the money put in by the United States of America in order to help a Country in desperate need? As everyone agrees, Ukrainian Survival and Strength should be much more important to Europe than to us, but it is also important to us! GET MOVING EUROPE!" wrote Trump.

The presumptive Republican presidential nominee continued by taking aim at President Biden and insisted that the Ukraine-Russia war would have never happened under Trump's leadership.

"In addition, l am the only one who speaks for 'ME' and, while it is a total mess caused by Crooked Joe Biden and the Incompetent Democrats, if I were President, this War would have never started!" added Trump.

Trump's remarks came as Congress has been engaged in a heated battle over the past several months over providing extra aid to Ukraine, with the majority of Republicans against and Democrats in favor.

The bills in the House's foreign aid package would provide around $61 billion for Ukraine, $26.38 billion for Israel, and $8.12 billion for the Indo-Pacific region "to counter communist China," according to Breitbart.
