"So look, in four years of the Biden presidency, I’m in the Senate the whole time. How many times do you think I spoke with Joe Biden while he was president? Zero."

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) said that he did not talk to Joe Biden during the entire tenure of the former president's term. The comments from Cruz come as details from an audio of Biden's interview with special counsel Robert Hur have been released

During one of the latest podcast episodes from "Verdict with Ted Cruz," the Texas senator explained that throughout Biden's time as president, he did not speak to Cruz "a single time," and that he did not talk to many other Republican senators during the time.

“So look, in four years of the Biden presidency, I’m in the Senate the whole time. How many times do you think I spoke with Joe Biden while he was president? Zero … not a single time, and that is bizarre," Cruz told his cohost. Ben Ferguson.

The senator said that it is unusual for the president to avoid interacting with the opposing party's senators, and that it is common for the president to work with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle on legislation.

“And by the way, when I say I didn’t speak with [Biden] for four years, that was true of virtually every Republican senator,” Cruz added. “The Democrats talked to him a little more, so they talked to him a little more. When the Senate’s in session, the Republicans have lunch together every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and so we talk at lunch. It’s a working lunch and it’s very productive. We would sit at lunch and talk about how weird it was that none of us had spoken to Biden, had been to the White House to see him. And they all knew him, they were clearly hiding him.”

Senator John Kennedy (R-LA), who did get to speak to Biden at the White House, said to Cruz that the president began telling Kennedy stories that happened years ago. When staff tried to intervene, Biden did not listen and told stories to Kennedy for 30 minutes.

All this comes as more has come to light about the former president's mental capacities, as an audio from the interview Biden gave to special counsel Robert Hur has revealed that Biden struggled to carry on the conversation and make points, and had poor memory recall.
