Canada may be in for another traumatizing deportation story.

According to Le Journal Du Quebec, Noémie Lavoie was killed on Tuesday allegedly by Ali Mahadi Mahamat.

Ms. Lavoie, a 24-year-old Quebec resident was previously found with bruises after Mr. Mahamat allegedly beat her. Ms. Lavoie's mother had sent money for her to return home soon after that.

Sadly Mr. Mahamat allegedly slashed Ms. Lavoie's throat with a knife during an argument and was arrested soon after.

Mr. Mahamat is a Chad national without Canadian citizenship and a criminal record which includes armed assault for which he served 19 months in prison.

According to Le Journal Du Quebec, it was one of the relatives of Mr. Mahamat who called officers on them, sending police to their Ahuntsic housing complex.

Mr Mahamat was immediately put into handcuffs and was charged with 2nd-degree murder.

In the weeks leading up to the fatal murder, her daughter was allegedly assaulted, noting that co-workers had even begun to mention bruising that she had sustained.

The grieving mother had suggested that her daughter leave Mahamat as soon as possible, but unfortunately she never ended up leaving the city.
