A violent Antifa suspect was taken into federal custody on Sunday over alleged criminal acts committed during the occupation outside the ICE facility in Portland, Oregon. This includes damaging federal property and assaulting five federal police officers when they rushed in to make an arrest. The assailant has been accused of violently grabbing officers' genitals and launching a series of physical assaults that left at least one officer bloodied, according to court filings.

August Dean Gordon, 31, of Beaverton, has been charged with damaging government property and assaulting a federal officer. He was arraigned on Monday in the US District Court in Portland, records show.

On June 29, at approximately 3:14 am, Gordon could be seen on surveillance cameras allegedly vandalizing federal property. This includes "pulling off the proximity card reader from a stanchion located on the ICE facility's driveway in a sharp jerking motion," according to an FPS affidavit. He had been wearing a short-sleeved black shirt, a black helmet, clear goggles, a light blue surgical mask, black gloves, black boots, black elbow pads, and black body armour at the time of the incident.

Federal officers were given a description of the subject, identified later as Gordon, and rushed in to make an arrest.

At least five officers sustained injuries while taking Gordon into custody, authorities said. The defendant allegedly kicked one officer in the left shin, while another officer was reportedly kicked in the left forearm. Additionally, Gordon allegedly grabbed the genitals of three more arresting officers and launched a series of assaults that included kicking an officer in the back, kicking an officer in the knee, and kicking another officer in the shin. All of the federal agents reported experiencing pain from injuries. At least one of them sustained bleeding from wounds, according to the affidavit.

Investigators said that Gordon allegedly issued an admission of guilt during an interview shortly after his apprehension, confessing to kicking officers and headbutting one. "Gordon also stated that he had grabbed at whatever he could and that his head was being forced down and he could not see," the affidavit reads.

US Magistrate Judge Jolie A. Russo released Gordon on his own recognizance. He has been barred from the area surrounding the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) building in South Portland as a condition of his release and must not possess weapons such as firearms, lasers, or explosives, according to court filings.

Gordon has been observed participating in the ongoing Antifa occupation at the ICE facility for several consecutive weeks, mostly arriving in the late-night hours. He has worn a similar black bloc uniform each night he has been at the facility, and could often be observed holding a sign referring to ICE agents as "Nazi's," according to photos captured by The Post Millennial.

On June 26, Gordon, originally from Oceanside, California, screamed at federal agents to kill themselves, which included yelling at officers stationed on the rooftop to jump, according to video footage taken by TPM.

Records show that Gordon, a far-left queer activist, lives with his anti-Trump parents in a large home in the Portland suburbs. He runs an online clothing business called the "Prime Zone," and in 2024 registered another business called "Vend-o-matic." Additionally, Gordon has been attending the riots outside the ICE facility alongside his sister Maddeline "Maddie" Suzan Gordon, who appears to have taken a leadership style role in targeting local residents who have voiced opposition to the occupation.

Maddie was captured in a viral video taken by TPM threatening to sexually assault a disabled black woman with her cane after the resident living in an apartment building across the street from the ICE facility confronted Antifa over their ongoing noise disturbances through the early morning hours. The incident occurred on June 29, the same day her brother was taken into federal custody.

More than 20 people have been arrested and charged with suspected crimes committed during the 24/7 ICE facility occupation, which began on and/or around June 6. Charges have included assaulting federal police officers, blinding officers with high-powered lasers, disobeying lawful orders, and starting fires next to the facility after using materials to trap federal officers and personnel inside the ICE building.
