No, it’s not racist to blame China for the spread of coronavirus

Woke hysteria apparently never takes a break, even in the middle of a global health and economic crisis.

Woke hysteria apparently never takes a break, even in the middle of a global health and economic crisis. While most people are concerned with how to pay their rent or keep themselves alive despite their pre-existing conditions amidst a pandemic, activists and professional outrage mouthpieces are attempting to label anyone who questions China’s role in our current situation as “racist”. In an ideal world, we could ignore this low-level discourse, but the mainstream media insists on perpetuating it. As a millennial who’s social media consists of almost exclusively people within my age range, I can confirm that it is the dominating topic.

Here are the facts. It is absolutely nonsensical to claim that those who want to hold China responsible are “racist.” Let’s ignore the fact that China is a country, not a race, and skip ahead a bit- It is no one else’s fault if you are too uninformed and ignorant to understand that when we talk about the “Chinese Virus” or mention China, we are referring to the Chinese government (CCP), not the Chinese people. No one in their right mind is attributing coronavirus to Asians, and those who are, are truly racists. The overwhelming majority of folks simply want to see the Communist Party of China held responsible for the disastrous way they handled the birth of the coronavirus, the containment of the coronavirus, and their continuous gaslighting of the rest of the world as to why it has spread.

When COVID-19 began spreading in China, the communist government of that country did what all communist governments do- restrict information. They immediately began barring doctors from speaking out, and banned international health experts from entering the country to study the virus. They concealed accurate numbers of infections and deaths, which left the rest of the world blind asto the true severity of COVID-19. National security advisor Robert O’Brien recently suggested in an interview that China’s coverup of the virus cost the rest of the world two months of response and preparation time.

Now that the entire planet is infected and facing economic crumble, the CCP has begun making unsubstantiated claims that the United States is responsible for COVID-19- specifically that our military began the spread in China. Let’s be clear- this is entirely false with literally no evidence to support it. However, the CCP is not accustomed to providing evidence for their claims, as they are used to lying to their people and restricting their access to the internet. The Chinese people are victims, just like the rest of the world.

Former U.N. ambassador John Bolton recently tweeted that we must hold China responsible for the spread of COVID-19.

For the time being, the United States and the rest of the world need to focus on containment and stabilizing their economies. When we reach the other side of this crisis, China MUST be held responsible and MUST be made to answer for this disaster. Facts are not racist.
