The Liberal party is refusing to release the details of a fundraiser held by Brampton MP Raj Grewal.

Raj Grewal was embroiled in controversy after he was investigated by the RCMP for accruing millions of dollars in gambling debts. He has since been removed from the Liberal caucus for his spending habits and now sits as an independent.

Grewal has refused to vacate his seat until the October 2019 election.

Here's an MP who couldn't even spend his own money wisely and the Liberals picked him to sit on a finance committee in the House of Commons.

Now, after the opposition requested to see the numbers of a fundraiser which potentially raked in upwards to $600,000, during a time where Grewal was gambling away astronomical sums of money, the Liberals are refusing to disclose any details.

So much for liberal transparency.

The fundraising figures are extraordinarily large for fundraisers of its kind and the house opposition is beginning to ask questions about the nature of the event.

At the event, tickets cost $500 per person and it attracted over 1,200 people.

Requests for an investigation into the fundraiser was denied by the Commissioner of Canada Elections.

As for Mr. Grewal? He was nowhere to be seen when question period resumed this year.
