While Trump has not publicly announced where he plans to build the library, his team has reportedly explored university sites in Florida.
According to incorporation documents filed Friday in Florida, the non-profit is named the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library Foundation and is intended to “steward, preserve, and celebrate the legacy and historical record of President Donald J. Trump and his presidency,” the New York Times reported. The foundation will operate as a tax-exempt nonprofit similar to those established to support the libraries of other former presidents.
The foundation’s board of trustees includes Eric Trump, Boulos, Trump’s daughter Tiffany (who is married to Boulos), and Long Island attorney James Kiley. Its listed address is a Trump-owned golf course in Jupiter, Florida.
While Trump has not publicly announced where he plans to build the library, his team has reportedly explored university sites in Florida, according to the outlet.
This marks the second nonprofit created to raise money for Trump’s library. The first was established last December but has not yet received tax-exempt status from the IRS. That group remains active.
Several high-profile donations have already been pledged to the library. ABC News and Meta have agreed to contribute a combined $37 million to settle lawsuits brought against them by Trump. ABC’s donations will be held in escrow until the nonprofit receives official tax-exempt status.
The president has recently expressed interest in having the 747 aircraft donated by Qatar to serve as Air Force One be turned over to the library when he leaves office, similar to the retired presidential aircraft on display at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.
