Democrats and leftists have been coming out in the press to defend illegal immigrants' alleged right to remain in the US. Their reasoning is that these illegal immigrants do work that Americans won't do or don't want to do.

MSNBC attempted to downplay the LA anti-ICE riots, saying that because the violence was not widespread, it wasn't a big deal. Rep. Norma Torres of California said that the issue of illegal immigration is a "local issue" and should be managed locally.

"It is really unfortunate that this is the kind of political violent talk that is coming out of the President of the United States," Torres said. "Look what this is, is a full-on assault on the democracy of the country, on our Constitution. The state of California and the city of Los Angeles have a right to be able to monitor their own incidents and handle their own incidents. By the president inserting the military into what is a domestic, a local issue, and the reason why, let's not forget why we are having problems in Los Angeles right now: Those problems came due to the large scale and violent confrontations ICE agents."

"We cannot forget who the people are the President is attacking. These are the people that are our childcare providers. These are the people that are cleaning our hotel rooms where these ICE agents, by the way, are staying.

"These are the people that are cooking our food. These are our nurses. These are our teachers, our school principals. So we have to look at the humanity of the people that the President is utilizing as a political prop to attack the politics of a state that did not vote for him and has rejected the Radical Republican agenda of Project 2025," Torres said.

A viral clip shared by New Jersey Senator Cory Booker shows a woman in the back seat of a car discussing the importance of illegal immigrants to do jobs that she claims Americans won't do. In sharing the clip, Booker said "Immigrants are essential to the backbone of our economy. Mass deportations and cruel policies against hardworking families don’t make us safer or stronger—they weaken us." Booker also called the LA riots, in which some 197 people were arrested on Tuesday alone, "peaceful."

The video, captioned "the high cost of mass deportations," shows the bougie-looking woman attempting to debunk the idea that immigration enforcement is "gonna help out real Americans."

"Illegal immigration allows low six figure income urbanites to live as plantation owners. Driven around in Ubers, housekeepers, nail salons, food delivery. While she does a fake laptop job. That’s what this woman wants - slave labor," Mike Cernovich said of the video.

"I'm gonna stop you right there," the woman said in the clip, "first off, if you are watching families being ripped apart does not appeal to your humanity, let me try to appeal to you financially, because these mass ICE deportations are bad for the economy. So while undocumented immigrants actually make up a really small portion of the overall workforce, they are over represented in jobs that you do not want, things that have little benefits.

"Long hours, back-breaking work with no pay," she went on. "For example, about 42% of the agricultural workforce, 23% of the construction workforce are undocumented. And let's be real—these are self-reported numbers, so those are probably light."

She then went into how reliant American society is on a subclass of workers with no legal status, saying "but the short of it all is that the food that you eat, and the home that you live in was probably brought to you by someone who is an immigrant."

The woman, whose clip was endorsed by a sitting senator, then lamented the loss of tax revenue that would come from the removal of illegal immigrants working unregulated, low wage jobs. She also offered concern about long waits at restaurants should those restaurants be forced to hire American workers.

Her concern didn't end with the culinary deprivations of her well-heeled friends and neighbors but extended to how hard it would be to find people to drive them around to and from these restaurants. "You're going to see a shortage in Uber and Lyft drivers," she said, "delivery order people. And you're going to see prices for meat, seafood and dairy all go up at your grocery store. She implored Americans to be "selfish" in their advocacy for illegal immigrants to remain in the US.

Booker and Torres aren't the first Democrats to advocate for a second class of illegal immigrants to remain in and be imported into the United States to ease the lives of the wealthy. Schumer wants all of the illegal immigrants who are in the United States to be granted amnesty.

Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett said in April, "So I had to go around the country and educate people about what immigrants do for this country or the fact that we are a country of immigrants."

"The fact is ain't none of y'all trying to go and farm right now," the crowd laughed and she gave them an incredulous pause. "Okay, so I'm lying? Raise your hands..." The crowd laughed. "You not! You not! We done picking cotton. We are! You can't pay us enough to find a plantation."

Democrats support having illegal immigrants in the country to do jobs they feel are beneath their own status and feel justified in knowing that their lifestyles are maintained by this class of people.
