The armorer involved in the making of "Rust" Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was sentenced to 18 months in prison on Monday for manslaughter charges in the shooting death of Halyna Hutchins.

According to USA Today, although Alec Balwin pulled the trigger in the shooting of Hutchins, a jury found that Gutierrez-Reed was guilty of charges of involuntary manslaughter.

Gutierrez-Reed has been in custody since March 6 after a jury in Santa Fe found her guilty in the incident.

During a statement, Gutierrez-Reed told the court and jury that her “heart aches" for Hutchins' family and added, “I am saddened by the way the media sensationalized our traumatic tragedy and portrayed me as a complete monster, which has actually been the total opposite of what's in my heart.”

Olga Solovey, Hutchins' mother, told the court, "Time does not heal."

"It gets worse and worse," she said in Ukrainian. "It's very important to me that there is justice."

She will get 18 months in prison as well as a $5,000 fine for her role in the shooting.
