DZSURDZSA: Why John Carpay is innocent and the Alberta UCP shouldn't abandon him

Do you remember when a New Brunswick LGBTQ+ community said putting up a straight pride flag was “like putting up a swastika?” Because I do.

Do you remember when a New Brunswick LGBTQ+ community said putting up a straight pride flag was “like putting up a swastika?” Because I do. Last night a video emerged of John Carpay comparing the Pride Flag to the swastika at a Rebel Live event. John Carpay is the President of the Justice Centre of Constitutional Freedoms and a columnist here at The Post Millennial. Once the video emerged, the left wing media jumped on the opportunity to condemn the man as a homophobe, a bigot and whatever other generic insult that’s usually thrown against right-wingers. As a response Carpay apologized for his “misguided” broad stroke comparison and said: “What I pointed out, in my 20-minute presentation, was that past attempts to enforce utopian ideals have often failed badly. We must always take care that, in our latter-day attempts to perfect the rights of any historically wronged community, we not trample upon the rights of others.”

Progressives are the champions of comparing things to the Nazis

Progressives and leftists have been comparing things to the Nazis since they first learned how to type. For them U.S. President Donald Trump is akin to Hitler. Playing Dr. Jordan Peterson videos in class is like “neutrally playing a speech by Hitler” And milk has now become a symbol of white supremacy. So when one Conservative dares to use their misguided tactics and points out the underlying tendency towards authoritarianism among LGBTQ+ activism, it’s like the end of the world. “How dare he!” screeched the left wing collectively. “Doesn’t he know we have a monopoly on that?”

If the Alberta UCP turns their backs on Carpay, they’re turning their backs on their base

Since the story emerged, journalists, academics and “activists” have used the opportunity to go after Jason Kenney for his endorsement of John Carpay and the JCCF’s work.

In the past few months the Alberta UCP has been like a dog shaking off flees placed there by the mainstream media. Justifiably, some of those flees had to go to not harm their overwhelming lead heading into the Alberta spring election. But now that the party has washed itself clean, the mainstream media and progressive activists are looking to place another bad apple in the bunch so that it all rots. John Carpay is not one of those bad apples. In this case, the UCP now have an opportunity to stand by a well-respected member of their base and it needs to take it. By abandoning John Carpay, the Alberta UCP will turn its back on its supporters and show its constituents that I can’t deal with a malicious press. With the way things are looking now, Alberta will be another province swept up by the conservative wave and the NDP and establishment Liberals are all afraid of that so they send their media cronies to make mountains out of mole hills.
