Well-known Alberta doctor charged with trying to arrange sex with a child

Dr. Fred Janke, 62, was arrested in Edmonton on Thursday and has been charged with making arrangements to make child pornography, commit sexual offences against a child and distribution of child pornography after a police operation found enough to put forward an arrest warrant.

Police said they do not have any evidence right now to suggest that any children were physically harmed or offended upon at this point in the investigation, but Camp said that has the potential to change, especially given the individuals extremely worrying position.

This is the most recent case in a growing trend in global investigations finding individuals in high-up positions abusing their relative power to seriously harm children.
