A group of Alberta farmers took matters into their own hands after tracking down and catching individuals who stole their trucks.

The farmers were from Hanna, Alberta.

They came across the thieves attempting to use a stolen truck to pull another stolen vehicle out of a ditch.

When the farmers confronted the group, an altercation began and so the farmers fired warning shots into the air.

Local police eventually arrested the thieves and charged three individuals with  possession of stolen property over $5,000, theft under $5,000, and break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence.

Police Constable Gibbs, said that while the police force is grateful that the thieves were caught, he doesn't recommend that civilians take matters into their own hands.
