A small earthquake has struck off the west coast of Vancouver Island.

A small earthquake has struck off the west coast of Vancouver Island.

The United States Geological Survey says the 4.5-magnitude quake struck at 2:26 a.m. Wednesday.

No injuries or damage were reported.

  1. In 1946, there was a fairly major quake on the island, I think it was around seven in magnitude. I was only a few months old having been born that year. It was centred around Comox. i WAS BORN IN Nanaimo, but my mother had taken me to Edmonton for a short while, as this was her home. A pleasant trip on CN Rail.
