The Conservative Party released it’s newest video message in both English and French, arguing this time that the Federal Liberals have taken a far too easy of line on criminals while criminalizing innocent farmers through their new controversial firearms bill.
Justin Trudeau is hard on farmers and easy on criminals. While he penalizes law-abiding farmers and hunters, his firearms bill does nothing to fight gun and gang violence. Meanwhile, his justice bill will introduce lighter sentences for serious gang-related crimes and terrorism. pic.twitter.com/y3VwxgCRrW

Why Does This Matter?
The Conservative party made a departure from previous ads where Andrew wore distracting and unfashionable plaid shirts, returning to an issue they seem to have real comfort on, and it clearly shows.
This kind of ad is almost guaranteed to do well now, with illegal border crossings increasing and a new firearms bill seeks to create stricter regulations. Because of this, it is highly likely that this ad continues to put pressure on Trudeau to take a far more serious attitude on issues such as ISIS returnees, or even change their entire plan on regulation.
With Liberal party support dropping, one thing is for certain. The Liberals cannot afford to ignore the questions posed by the opposition for much longer.
Soon enough, they may be forced to begin conceding not just on tone, but on policy manoeuvres altogether.
