All the major parties agree that this area requires and deserves substantial provincial resources. They also all agree that the province’s finances are already in dangerous condition as it stands. No matter who is elected premier, they will have a tricky balancing game to play.

Liberal Party

Having created a pharmacare program for prescription drugs for youth, the Liberals announced that they would expand the program to include seniors as well. They also promised a home maintenance benefit and improvements to care services.

Progressive Conservative Party

The PCs promise dental care help for low income seniors.

New Democratic Party

The NDP promises to pay municipalities to let seniors defer their property taxes until they sell their home.

They also promise to “fix seniors care” by increasing capacity and minimum daily hands-on care standards, as well as giving the right not to be separated to couples in long-term care.
