Lametti says he still doesn't "know all of the facts" on SNC-Lavalin affair

"At this point, I still don’t know all the facts — so it’s a hypothetical question that I can’t answer,” said Lametti about SNC-Lavalin.

Justice Minister David Lametti told the West Block's Mercedes Stephenson that he had no specific knowledge of the SNC-Lavalin file before he was appointed to cabinet last month, and that he still does not know all the facts.

“I  was a Montreal MP, as I’ve said, so I was generally aware of the file  but I didn’t have any specific knowledge — I mean, I had the knowledge  that you and I both had, reading the newspapers and seeing what’s out on  the media," said Lametti.

“At  that point, I didn’t know all the facts — at this point, I still don’t  know all the facts — so it’s a hypothetical question that I can’t  answer,” he said.

Interestingly while having no working knowledge of the file, the Attorney General has made and continues to make statements defending the Liberal government.

One would thank that in the absence of the facts it would better to make no statement, than to repateidly make comments which support the individual being accused.
