GM, Unifor to salvage 300 jobs in Oshawa

According to CTV, General Motors Canada has announced that it will invest $170 million dollars to its Oshawa plant to move the facility away from manufacturing vehicles to stamping, sub-assembly and autonomous vehicle testing.

According to CTV, General Motors Canada has announced that it will invest $170 million dollars to its Oshawa plant to move the facility away from manufacturing vehicles to stamping, sub-assembly and autonomous vehicle testing.

GM Canada president Travis Hester says the transition will save 300 of 2600 union jobs at the Oshawa plant.

The announcement was made this morning in Toronto alongside Unifor national president Jerry Dias.
