Over 100 individuals have now been evacuated after a devastating fire ran through a large section of Brandon Manitoba's downtown area.

A devastating fire ran through large sections of downtown Brandon, Manitoba yesterday. Over 100 individuals have been evacuated.

Governmental Response

Premier Brian Pallister tweeted that he was “[w]atching with deep concern as a massive fire devours downtown Brandon landmarks”.

The city released a statement that the cause remains unknown. It also said that a preliminary investigation was underway, and that no deaths or injuries have been reported.

The city will work with Manitoba Emergency Social Services and the Red Cross to provide necessary accommodations for affected residents.
